Drogheda United beat Olympique Lyonnais 3 - 1 in their Division 2 fixture.
Okazaki scored a brace and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.
Caligiuri was also on the scoresheet for his side.

Up into 4th. Making a stronger push for playoffs than last year...

Manchester City beat Olympique Marseille 4 - 2 in a thrilling Division 1 encounter.
Nainggolan had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match.
Khedira, Toni and Xhaka were amongst the goalscorers.

I've found the answer to my striker problem.

His name..........is Luca Toni! :D :pac:

Heart of Midlothian outclassed Celtic and beat them 5 - 1 in a thrilling Division 2 encounter.
Vukusic scored a brace and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.
Lima and Fer were also amongst the goalscorers.

That's the 7th time in 17 games that my Hearts have scored 5 goals in a match. Only 2 teams over all 4 divisions have scored more; Barcelona (Div 1) and Queens Park (Div 4).

    Not too shabby.

One game off the halfway point, sitting in third and catching up on 1st and 2nd, in Div 2.

Decided to move on Jay Rodriquez. While I know he's got potential, I'm sick of his constant injuries in real world, and dont think he'll be rising again any time soon. 6.7m was too good to pass up.

Have replaced him with Troy Deeney for 3.9m. 87 rated, and linked with a move to Arsenal, he's been doing well at Watford. He's a grand 3rd choice striker for me, behind Kaka and Okazaki.

Also nabbed Capoue while I was at Watford; 89 rated defender who is being linked with Arsenal and Milan. Straight into my first team too. With him in the team, left back is now the only position I don't have an 89 rated player in.

Brought in Lapadula for 1.4m, top scroer in Serie B and linked to Liverpool and Juventus. Brought in Augusto for 5.8m; he was linked with a move to Schalke before turning it down and moving to China so that looks a dud move already :p. And reenforced the keeper department with moves for De Sanctis (1m for an 89 rated striker who goes into my first team) and Schmeichel (87 rated, hoping he'll benefit from Leicester's season).

Really happy with progress at Drogheda United now. Feel that I won't have to rely on the loan system next season at all, and hopefully Mahrez, Susaeta and Caligiuri in the AM positions, with Carvalho and Delph behind them will provide me a strong midfield going forward.

Lotsa good moves for the future there. Surprised Deeney was so easily snapped up!

Both Deeney and Capoue were two of those bids I made where I spent the next 24 hours waiting for someone else to come in and drive up the price, so happy to nab both at bare minimum value. :)

The new value system is also great too; nice knowing if I buy a player for X amount, his value wont drop straight away to X/2 value. So if I buy a dud, I can sell him on a few weeks later for far less of a loss than it would have been before.

Other side is all the golden oldies I bought just before it happened, like Kaka and Snra, were basically flushing cash down the drain :(

2-0 win in the Louth Derby :D

Up into second, though Capoue, in his debut, hurts himself and is out for 9 days. Solid start

The Arsenal gig won't be available until they are in Division 4.
If anyone WANTS the gig then take a team in Division 3 and help kick them down to the basement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,917 ✭✭✭✭GT_TDI_150

Im already doing my bit by having swindon in D1 ... its one less position for Arsenal's main contenders to occupy hence they have to drop a division and make it harder on the arse

It was the dark days of the GOOD League ... the average age is down from 42 to 27 I see. Surprised that King Kazu wasn't signed at the time by the manager

    Davide Astori | D(C) | 29 | 89 | 6.0m
    Antonio Di Natale | F(RLC) | 38 | 89 | 0.4m
    Steven Defour | DM(C), M(RC) | 27 | 89 | 7.0m
    Federico Fernandez | D(C) | 27 | 89 | 7.2m

Managed to get PSG to the play offs in D4 after taking over mid season.

Let's see how we fair haha. Could do with a squad strengthen in some areas as I've a few oldies like Kaka and 3-4 more 89s to replace.

If anyone has any to offload let me know!

Steven DEFOUR has completed his move to Shelbourne FC from Manchester City for 8,042,000

Hope you (somehow) enjoy Dublin. Surly he'll manage to get a league there though as he got nothing in Manchester. In truth, he was a bit of a panic buy as we were lingering either in, or just above, the relegation spots at the time. Luca Toni was another panic buy, but that actually worked out nicely for us!

Do you need any more of the players above off of me? I was almost certain you'd take at least one of the defenders (Fernandez or Astori). :)

Shelbourne are pleased to announce the signing of 2 more irish internationals, James mcclean and fai player of the year jonathon Walters. Now all I need is a rb and a winger.

The deal reported to be worth 13,931,000 involving Murara NETO of Santos FC and Everton has been accepted along with offers from other clubs. Santos FC will now make a decision which club to complete the deal with shortly.

Going against the current champions for a keeper. Usually I don't get involved in the bidding wars end of things, but Neto seems worth 14m given I've got the cash. Both offers seem to be the same though, so god knows which way it will go. Given Everton have Buffon at 94 rated, and my best is DeSanctis at a shakey 89, I'm hoping he'll choose Drogheda over Liverpool...

Thanks to Juventus for the loan of Rugaini who will be great cover for the CB position.

And massive thanks to Everton for a loan of Sergio Robert, who'll get a massive amount of game time this season for me; an 89 rated who can play both full backs, right wing AND central midfield? Thats an awesome utility player for me :)

If you can loan the player from Barcelona, you can have him.

With the exception of Jonathan SORIANO, who got super pi$$y about being loaned out last season.

Also, open to deals for any player rated 91 or under. I need a left back rated 90 or higher, regardless of how auld he may be.
