Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Should have being a poll with this one. Tayto vs. King vs. walker vs. pringle etc....

    Tayto would win I reckon

No Tayto are still cutting edge - right now they have a team of scientists working on making the bags still smaller and including even more air than actual crisp for only 10% more of your hard-earned cash.....

If Tayto have lost their edge does this mean each crisp is just middle now?

Spuddy's crisps from Aldi are the best damn crisps around!!

Stay away from Lidl's 'Crusty Croc' ones though. Totally flavourless and manky!

Spuddy's are made by Largo, who make Tayto.

Are burger bits still around? Or were they called burger bites?

They were great in a buttered roll!

    Hunky dory for the images.

Yeah burger bites I think, lovely altogether

My mother used to send we down for groceries when I was young, she'd give me a 5 pound note and I could spend the change. Monster Munch for 19p were always my choice.

Oh yeah, they were the business. Spicy as hell to a young lad used to bland Irish cooking.

Discos were another great brand of crisp. You would be dehydrated a week later, after their salt and vinegar crisps.

King crips are the best for a sambo, loads of butter on the bread and then you get the bag of king and scrunch it up and pour on bread, lovely!

    :D

Served with an ice cold pint of full fat milk. GOAT snack.

Love the smoky bacon Tayto making a comeback :)

Also, my personal favourite is the dark green Hunky Dorys.

    Crisp perfection :D

Tayto are mank! I can't get how people love the cheese and onion crap. It tastes horrible!!

Walkers Thai sweet chilli are the best crisps you can get in this country!

I think its hilarious how the word Tayto is synonymous with crisps in certain parts of the country. I've been in bars in Chicago and some Paddy would be in asking the bemused barman for a pint and a packet of Tayto.

Doritos are a specialist crisp? Oh dear.

Anyway, there are only a few good crisp brands at the moment, and Tayto ain't one of them. But Keogh's... fcuking hell they're good.

    I was disappointed with Keogh's.
They have that hard texture that Kettle Chips have and I hate that in a crisp.
Yes, I like them crunchy (love Walker's Extra Crunchy), but the brittle nature of Keogh's crisps puts me off.

Whether Tayto were better when made in Coolock or now that they're being made in Ashbourne...

Ah yes, the great Tayto Schism. Neighbour turned on neighbour, brother turned against brother.

Who could forget driving down the Malahide road on a summer day with the windows rolled down and experiencing the bang of freshly frying industrial vats of high-fat snacks in the Tayto factory mixed with the smell of chemical emulsion coming from the Crown Paint factory next door.

By the time you'd hit the Tonlegee Road you'd be so out of your head on the whole olfactory experience that you'd be shooing away the little dancing Tayto men off the dashboard of your car.

The sensations? Oh they're feckin unreal!

I agree tayto is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to crips, they're scrap altogether!

Hot damn! I think when they first came out they were 12p on the bag, but I just asked my eight year old there do shops still sell burger bites, they do, for 75c apparently. I thought that couldn't be right when they used only be 10p, until my wife informed me that a 20p bag of mini chips is now 99 cent!
