Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Magneto Flywheel question

Any techies here? I'm restoring an old Merry Tiller for my Father, its been lying-up years in a damp shed. Last time it was stored as a non-runner due to no spark and no obvious remedy. A couple of years ago in all my young(ish) wisdom I decided to take it all apart and get to the root of the problem. So I took the block off the Body and started the dis-assemble. I got the flywheel off and got access to the electricals. Nothing looked obviously off, but I did notice that of the 4 magnets bonded to the inside of the flywheel, two were very magnetic, and the other two (next to eachother) were very very weak. is this normal in a single-cylinder 4 stroke set-up? I can post pictures if this helps. The engine is a Wisconsin Robin (Subrau) EY18W from the mid-70's 4.6hp I think.

My fathers birthday is coming up so I want to get her running again and silence my critics !

    Any help greatly appreciated !
