McGuirk is great at getting a rise out of VB.

McGuirk's mother mustn't have hugged him as a child

Ah lads, stop making McGuirk look good.
    Vinny and his communism.
    Jesus. :D

He would want a good punch in the face, what a prat.

Couldnt agree more, what an arrogant jackass

Has anyone noticed that McGuirk never looks at people when he's arguing with them? There's something very fraudulent and untrustworthy about him. I don't think he even believes any of the crap he spouts. Having an unreasonable, obnoxious opinion on (literally) every topic allows him to appear on late night panel shows far more than somebody so ineloquent deserves.

Vincents idea of an ideal society borders on Orwells Animal Farm IMO....

Anyone know what Vinny's salary is?; would it by any chance be more than 4 times that of the lowest paid? What a hypocrite.

Vinnie's interminablly long question snookered in 10 seconds by McGurk.

Vinnie then takes over the scene with a rant about Cuba.

    The 'inequality' argument sinks again.

Vinny really should've had that Kieran Allen guy (eh Kieran Allen...) for real sparks to fly tonight.
    Missed opportunity. :(

People in this country are too greedy for economic equality.

IMO that is a stupid question, with all his interest's in journalism and article's he writes, it would be considerable. That is what you would expect to get when you take your position seriously.

    Mass emigration to Cuba imminent!

McGuirk seemed to agree with Peter when he suggested debt-forgiveness on a European level.
Wonder does he believe all bondholders should've been made whole. Would be interesting.

Lol, so the publicans are planning on bringing youngsters in pubs, to teach them how to drink.

I presume the drink is free.

Dammit, I missed a McGuirk show?

Bill Cullen had a smug position like McGuirk, pennies fall through small holes as Bill found out.

Bah, just because McGurk can't follow the thread of his own argument, do try keep up with it regardless. TMG asserted that large income inequalities were necessary to get consultants to bother to show up to work. VB produces counterexample of a medical system that appears to work without such. Seems an entirely sensible point to me. In contrast, McGurk;s "the poor will always be with us" blather seemed to be deliberately avoiding address actual income and wealth inequalities with a series of trite deflections and platitudes.

I'm inclined to cut Vinnie some slack for the mega-questions on occasions like this when it reduces the pain of hearing a Tory Turd like Tom oligineously ooze on out of his obnoxious orifice.

You make about as much sense as Vincent.

The question was outrageously long in the context of a short discussion programme with four panelists. Further it was all too familiar from this host as he advances the same rubbish again and again. The initial thrust is always the same 'Everyone should be paid the same' which then metamorphoses into 'The highest should get four times the pay of the lowest'. There is a 400% difference between the two so why does he not short circuit to the seond proposition if he holds the latter view? Or does he hold both at the same time?

As for McGurk among a myriad of examples he choose a medical example - he could for instance have choosen pop stars, jockeys, footballers, engineers +++. Vincent knows his theory is going to be blown in short order (yes he does) so he jumps in to head it off with the Cuban stuff. Nobody in Ireland has much of a clue about the accuracy of that. Plus the example was only that. You see Vincent's ability to grasp multiple facts at the same time is extremely limited and his ability to marshall any facts in support of arguments even less so.

Hence the loaded panels - even when the biased host is discounted!
