What's the story with Mary Lou and the hand gestures.

From the Ursula Halligan school of karate public speaking.

That's democracy. We might not like the results but we should respect the will of the electorate.

And you should respect the will of the TCD graduate electorate

    Desperate isn't it??....

That would have been a good debate with a more controlling chairman. I don't feel comfortable critising Vinnie, but he seems to have only one style of presenting.

    Ronan Mullen...

I disagree with most of what he says, but I don't think that makes him a bad senator.

I tend to agree with you, but I think that every citizen should have a vote in the Seanad Election (after all we pay for it) and the Taoiseach shouldn't be allowed 11 nominees.

I agree completely. Especially about the Taoiseach's nominees. And I don't think the likes of John Crown would have any problem getting elected to the Seanad if voting was extended to every citizen. I'm not sure that he'd get elected to the Dáil though.

I love the way TV3 news chose to carry the invisible Enda clip in their report :D

Ronan Mullen is a Mouthpiece for the catholic hierarchy and archaic rules. He is very good at what he does, he is an excellent debator

You said she failed before the electorate she didn't in TCD

We should have more poll toppers like Healy Rae and Lowry...

I don't particularly like Bacik, but she was the running for the final seat in Dun Laoighaire in the 2011 election and was well entitled to be nominated as a senator

The guy nearest to Vinny looks like Martin McGuinness from a distance.

Excuse me while I kowtow to a tiny elitist minority of the population who have a right to their own representation in the Seanad

Another panel, not to debate the referendum, but to debate the the debate

There is rarely any more than 25 of the 60 Senators in the Seanad when there is a debate.
Makes me think they are only there for the money to be honest.

She couldn't even get elected on the coat tails of Eamon Gilmore.

Some arnt aware of the parameters of the report. It wasn't investigating criminality.

The victims groups welcomed the report

How does one go from writing a report to making a good president. Anyway, I thought the debate went on a bit long.

I love that colour, Mary's are on a winner tonight........

It's far more that that. His work with the Ulster Unionists is another example.

Gilmore has to shoulder a lot of the blame there. He campaigned for Number 1 and that was it. Had the vote been managed better, Bacik would have got in.

Gilmore couldn't bring home anyone that was a disgrace for a wannabe Taoiseach

I see what you're saying, but it hardly makes him presidential material. I don't think I've ever even heard him being interviewed. He didn't do any interviews over the Magdalene report.

The debate will make very little difference, however Martin was the clear winner IMO.
