This was the original headline, as featured in the print edition of The Irish Examiner

which is correct - that is the mean average age of the abusers according to the report, but this gives the impression that most of the perpetrators are young men in their twenties.

The updated story in the Examiner gives more meaningful information in it's opening paragraphs than the original version

More than a third of children sexually assaulted or raped are attacked by another minor, it has emerged.

Research has revealed 37% of all perpetrators of child sexual violence are under 18 and more than half are a friend, acquaintance or neighbour.

Anyone reading only the original headline would probably have been misled. I am glad that The Examiner belatedly updated the story.
