Why do they carry on with this crap of taking of taking a break at 11.52, then coming back at 11.59, just in time to say goodnight?

I think from now on I'll switch channels after the paper review.....

I can't see the Garth Brook's fan's peeing in the gardens and causing mayhem in Clonliffe Road?....

    I may be wrong...

    His manner bugs me.

    Like an Irish Peter Mandelson.

Is Eddie still advising us to buy gold. :pac:

Sinead Desmond made a lot more sense than Eddie. In future, I'm going to get my financial advice from her, instead of the Hobbsmeister.

I find myself in the peculiar position of agreeing with the views of each of the panel but I'm uneasy that no other view is represented.

This is a pointless debate. Nobody is ever going to find out what really happened. It's the nature of what happens in this country. Haughey was bugging the phones of prominent journalists in the 1980's but he was untouchable. "Plus ca change" and all that.

''They were all to busy to come on the program''

I'm sure when May comes they won't be too busy to look for a vote from me.

    They can whistle for it.......

Would have been better balanced if we had to have Damien English or Kieran O'Donnel there for the craic.

Yea, it was a bit like watching a football match with only one team on the field.

All the newspapers have ripped photos from Sonia Blount's Facebook page today. I wonder what the Data Protection Commisioner would say about that?
    Probably feck all.

I think that the media regard Facebook as a public forum....therefore fair game to reproduce.

What's wrong with showing her picture?

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

What's wrong with showing her picture?

You think it's alright for reputable newspapers to go to her FB page and pick and choose from her photos?

In olden times, (gets out fiddle here), charities were organisations which gave to the poor. These days charities are organisations which RECEIVE money FROM the poor, (us).

How do you know they didn't seek permission?

Cian o Connor had very powerful friends, like the Godfather.

Oh yeah, I'm sure her grieving family gave the newspapers carte blanche to go through her Facebook photos....

What planet are you living on?

I just don't see it as an issue. The murder was the thing that was quite distasteful. The fact that some papers are showing her picture is of no relevance whatsoever.

If you want to criticise the papers, then you could say that the information they have has obviously been leaked to them by Gardai and will this prejudice a trial?

Given that the perpetrator handed himself into The Gardai, and will most likely plead guilty, your point has no relevance.
