    "Eh...mneh...yeah...*sigh".
Only Vinny could get away with such incoherence.

Vinny is very quiet about this.
Is he an old friend of Shatter or something.

Actually interesting to read Matt Cooper (a respected journo) state his opinion that Shatter is as good as gone in his Sunday Times bit yesterday.
What are the odds on him going?

    [fanciful]
Who knows they might rustle up another Reilly omnishambles to distract us and offer James up as a sacrifice. He's as good as politically dead anyway.
    [/fanciful]

I think the queue of ministers today talking about his career is ominous for Shatter. Wouldn't be at all suprised if he slings his hook tomorrow.

Years ago they all learned their trade in the same stable.

The Shatter/GSOC story is running for three weeks now.In a real, grown-up country, both Shatter and Callinan would be gone long ago

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,160 ✭✭✭Callan57

Anyone hear Denis Bradley on with Matt Cooper this evening? Well worth a listen to & a man who knows what he's talking about.

Sneery Rabbitte himself was backing him fully until recently.
And Noonan with his whataboutery was at it as well.

Alastair Campbell's maxim of anything over 11 days in the media, you're toast.
11 weeks is probably the Irish equivalent.

That's what I mean...it was about the man and what he has done for the country not the issues.
Sure sign that he is about to be pushed or has said he will fall on his sword.

On the contrary, he's devoted the last two weeks to this scandal.

Have a goddamn enquiry, what harm can it do? Fine Gael doing everything to protect Callinan, I think that Garda McCabe is a very credible person, unlike Callinan.
