I'm glad Michael McDowell is putting himself forward as the poster-boy for keeping the Seanad. This should ensure the vote in favour of abolition should have a comfortable majority.

Its funny, Harry, but I always said that I would vote for its abolition, because I regarded as nothing more than a talking shop. But, it seems that EK is very anxious for to have it abolished, so I will vote no just because he wants it gone.

Michael McDowell had ample time in government to reform the Seanad, but he wanted to abolish it. Now he wants to retain it. He's had more flip flops than Judith Chalmers.
