Socialist International Times. Dju like him - Colleran?

I learned something last night - that Socialist Party want to renege on the entire national debt. He said we should not pay anymore interest on it. Don't know though their intentions for the capital.

I think that idiot who was on last night said initially that we should renege on the entire national debt. I would like to remind him that as a holder of national solidarity bonds, I own some of that debt. God forbid that those twits ever get into government or anywhere near it.

John Lonergan is a very nice man but I think he is away with the fairies.

I don't know him personally. Just from what I heard from him so far presenting the tonight show, he tells it as he sees it.

are you saying only relevant details are ever included in crime reports ?

if a foreigner was involved in a crime or the victim of a crime , this detail would usually be added to a media report

So it's not relevant then. Grand.

I get so annoyed when I think of Thornton Hall. €30 million was paid for the site. Originally, the new prison was supposed to accommodate 2,200 prisoners, the project has been placed on hold and when it is eventually built it will only accommodate 500 prisoners.

Harsh prison sentences and even the death penalty doesn't deter criminals. One only has to look at America.

Every year they talk about maths. Who cares. It's just another subject. Make it optional and all those that hate it won't sit the exam and fail it.

nice dodge , their tinkers , sophie whatshername in cork who that journalist was accused of murdering , was French and the media constantly pointed this out

dundon is a member of a sub group which claims to be independent of the majority , therefore you would think his ( ethnic ) status would be alluded to

Leaving Cert. results are out tomorrow :(

I think I'll stay away from my radio and television for the day. I wish news reporters would interview people who get 300 and 400 points and not just the students who get nine A1s.

Ireland must be the only country where leaving cert is given sept 11 level of media coverage , beit the exams or results , its apparently newsworthy

Unfortunately, travellers don't have ethnic status in this country.

I've never seen a BBC or Sky News report about the GCSE results. I have no idea when they come out or when the exams start.
In this country you'd have to go and live in a cave for 12 months if you wanted to avoid the silly Leaving Cert coverage.

yeah , a section of the legal sector would love that and most of the media , aswell as middle class academic types and quangocrats

the rest of us would fear criminal proceedings everytime we tried to tell tinkers to clear off our property etc

ethnic status = immunity from the law which would be pretty significant for a largely criminal sub group

The British media like to feature photogenic young ladies getting their results, rather than whichever geek got the best results.

Also, A few years ago I saw a student opening his exam results live on GMTV at 7.45 ... and the same student opening the same results 'live' again on BBC Breakfast News at 8.10  Of course, those were the days when fake TV was all the rage across the water!

Your views seem to be all over the place. On the one hand, you accept that travellers are a distinct ethnic group, but at the same time, you decry the notion that they should be officially classed as one - presumably because that would result in your views being described as "racist", rather than merely "bigoted" and "idiotic". :)

Getting back to your original idiotic comment, it basically annoys you that the media doesn't emphasise the fact that Dundon is a traveller, because you hate travellers and would like to see him being used as a stick to beat the entire travelling community with.
