Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Picking up this bad boy next week, its a very very low mileage Rocket 3 Classic from Dublin Triumph (thanks Pete !!)
Now I know what you're thinking, sure he's just compensating for something else !!! but I couldn't see myself getting anything less than this after owning my old GSX1400.

No, but I'm used to big heavy bikes. I had a test ride on the newer roadster. Massive bike but very well balanced and very nimble once you going. The only thing I didn't like was the standard exhausts are far too quiet.

    Fab bike.

A friend of mine just sold an F6C, which is not dissimilar - and his had loud pipes. 6 of them. Straight through. Head-wrecking is the only word for it.

Has a nice quiet CBF1000 now.

    And tinnitus !! :D

You can have pipes that are too loud. But nice to get a bit of a note out of it, standard exhausts are too quite.
So, from the 1400 to this, KTRIC must have a tiny willy :pac:

True - my H-D came with Screamin' Eagle pipes - quite apart from the noise, the quality of the chrome was shoite - and after a few months I took them off and got a pair of brand new std pipes, from a shop - for free ! Nobody wants them, see........Now, 5 years later the std ones have 'packed' down nicely and are in that nice area between more than nothing, and yet catch your ear.

I sat astride a Rocket III at a Triumph dealership in Surrey a few years ago, the salesman gave me the keys and said take her for a spin if you like? but just starting her up was enough for me. The kick from the engine was amazing, the tank is about two feet wide, and I am only 5'10" so I said thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just rev her a bit and leave it at that :))

    What a beautiful beast.

I'd say it'd take up a fair bit of room in the garage. Is there a reverse on it? Or is it handy enough to move around?
Did the old GSX have a carlow reg and a top box? Saw a nice one yesterday, was thinking that could be your old one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,282 ✭✭✭BlackWizard

I think his old bike was blue and white. No top box

Hope he doesn't mind this photo of it. PM me if ya don't

Nope, mine was a WW reg. See the pic above. ;)

Ah, different exhausts on the one I saw. It was mint condition with a few nice extras and same colour, so was thinking it could be yours.
Nice bike anyway, some guy driving it into dublin down the naas road, then down the canal.
