    Apologies if there is already a similar thread, just thought it would be cool to have a survey-like-thread where everyone compared what they grew last year and what they are growing this year :)

    what did you grow last year.. ? good yields?
    what part of the country are you from?
    what are you growing this year and hows ut coming along?
    greenhouses v direct sowing? what feeds/ground prep? what varieties did you used?. etc

    Last year:-

    Carrots - purple cosmic ones - great!
    Cabbage - three different varieties
    Spring Onions
    Pak Choi - two different types
    Oriental mixed veggies - we eat a lot of stif fries here (wife is Chinese), fresh mustard in particular was a hit
    Mangetout
    French Dwarf beans
    Broccoli
    Cauliflower
    Spinage
    Garlic
    Chillies
    Swiss Chard
    Tomatoes - from a cheapo packet , disater, none ripened before autumn
    Loads of different fruit :)

    This year differences

    + will be planting several different varieties of carrot
    +Kohl Rabi - dwarf and masssive
    +Garlic Chives
    +Multiple different varieties of Garlic (last year was just a tesco one planted..this year far far more planted
    +Oca - loads of different ones
    +Callaloo
    +Cucamelon
    +Japanese Beefsteak
    +Multiple different varieties of tomato - started earlier than last year, hopefully will be more successful
    +Several different varieties of chilies
    +Peppers
    - Broccoli - took up too much space
    - Cauliflower - took up too much space

    Probably forgot a tonne of stuff but thats all i can remember at the end of my night shift :)
    Can't wait for the warm weather and watching the garden explode into life again, so wonderful!
    only thing in the ground so far is the garlic, some kohl rabi, pak choi and chinese cabbage planted a couple of weeks ago was a non starter

    Last Year, Spuds kerr Pinks ; 3 varieties, decent crop but many rotted in ground because of insane amount of rain we got.

    Turnips, Still using up the last few.

    Onions.

    Cabbage, cropped well but Cabbage fly got a few.

    Cauliflower, got a few good heads, blaming weather for lower yields.

    Brocolli, dad pulled them up as "weeds" -_-



    This Year
    Broad Beans, Doing well, a few damaged from wind doing split into 3 groups to compare yields greenhouse/pots/ ground.
    Tomatoes "beefsteak" and cherry variety, both coming on ok,
    Carrotts/parsnips sat in a old bath "raisedbed" I made,
    Spinach, doing well.
    Celariac.
    Lettuce, Lola rosa and another variety, both only coming up now.
    Runner Beans + Peas, both sprouting now.
    Cucumber, got 6 nice healthy seedlings coming on well.
    Leeks, coming on nicely too, hopefully transplant out in a few weeks.
    Melons, have seeds planted 4 days ago in homeade propegator,
    Sweetcorn, sat in modules a few days ago also.
    about 12 'symphony' strawberry plants, ive about 50% in greenhouse to try and get early fruits,
    Peppers 'hungarian wax' got a couple true leaves now.
    Chillis.
    Garlic.
    Cauliflower/Cabbage seedlings ready for planting out.
    Rhubarb.
    Brocolli just coming up now.
    Butternut Squash, just coming up now
    and bought a few fruit bushes there last week.
    & also gonna set a few pumpkins & Kale too,
    Oh and spuds, we sat 4 different varieties just to compare and get variety.
    All organic.
