Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Public Services Card

Has anyone had issues trying to activate their card? Mine finally came through in the post, I call the number and select the correct options. Whether or not I press 1 at the last option - to activate the card - the voice tells me for all other queries to ring another number, and then just hangs up. It's done this three times now, wasting however much credit.

Anyone had the same issue or something similar?

Had to google what it is. Did you have a look in State Befits forum?

No, I'm about to run out the door and thought I'd get a quicker response here ;)

I didn't think you have to activate it, it's not a credit card or anything, it just stores your information.

    Try HERE

Maybe you should have rang the number at the end as directed.

...what number did you think I was calling? Some arbitrary one I just cooked up so I could come here and ask the most ridiculous question imaginable - if anyone else was having issues trying to get through to a service on a made-up phone number?

    Read the op.

Already been there. I have everything I need, I just can't get through on the system. I select activate my card, it tells me that all other queries go to some other number, then hangs up. Even if I don't make that selection, it eventually does that.

You never said that you tried to call the second number in fairness.

Sure ring it for the crack anyway what harm can it do.

I've moved this over to the State Benefits forum, as they would probably have a better idea how to help.

Please note the new charter for this forum.

That number has to do with difficulties with receiving the card through the post. I doubt if I call them they'll have any idea of the status of the answering system.

Guess I'll leave it rest until tomorrow...

The number given at the end of the recording isn't one that can actually help you with activation. It's only given while all the lines for the activation process are busy or if you've taken too long to press the button to procede.
