Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On the verge of buying some orphan/pet lambs (week old) what’s the procedure for tagging?
Will the seller have given the lambs a tag number at birth and supplies me with the actual tags to insert later?

The seller should tag then and fill out the paperwork for them - you should get a copy..

I thought they would/should be older before tagging which prompted my question.
So if lambs are to be sold they can be tagged regardless of how young they are?, and of course the associated papers to go with them.

If the rules are to be followed, then all lambs leaving a holding should be tagged - The tag numbers are needed on the transfer documentation as far as I can remember
That said, I have a few pet lambs myself that I must follow-up on and get tagged...

cloudroost is rigt re animals should be tagged when leaving a holding, for the proper paperwork.

Re how old they should be before you tag them - I tag all mine at around 3-4 days old. (This is just tags for my own management) They don't seem to mind too much ;)

EDIT : Remembered this image was on an old thread - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=82629474&postcount=60

That’s great thanks. Paperwork etc isn’t an issue, just had a misplaced concern for tagging at such a young age. At the moment the lambs aren’t tagged so I’ll not accept them until they are.
