Musicians for Band start up in Dublin 15

    Hi folks,

    I've been wanting to start a band for ages so I'm getting it going now. I'm a guitarist and I also play a bit of piano and can do backing vocals.

    I'm looking for people anywhere up to 30ish interested in writing and creating new music. So if you sing or can play any instruments like piano, guitar, bass, strings (violin / cello) or anything you think might be interesting then I'd love to chat to ye. If you play more than one, to any standard then that would be even better. I'm not looking for amazing musicians, it's more about being creative and having ideas to contribute to songs.

    For me influences would be Sigur Ros, Arcade Fire, Daughter, The XX, Deptford Goth, London Grammar stuff like that. The sound of the band I imagine will be mainly acoustic, but with some electric elements to it too.

    I'm not looking for this to be formed quickly, I think it will take a while to get the right balance of people. If you're interested in this and the list of bands I gave then please get in touch with me.

    I'm in Dublin 15, (Blanch, Carpenterstown, Castleknock) too so I'll be hoping to organise things around here, but if not then probably the city centre will be where it comes together.

    Initially I'd like to get this going with maybe one singer / guitarist and a string player. Anyone out there near D15 interested.
