    They would pussy out of it for fear offending, Politicians are fence sitters and wont make any decision either way if it upsets one side of the fence.

    I think you are over-estimating the power that the church wield in Ireland, especially when it comes to politicians.

    I just think the gay marriage issue is way down the priority list, nothing else sinister.
