Usually when Irish people have been living in the States for a long time its polite to say to them -

"Fair play to ya, you never lost the accent".

But seeing as Catherine is from Cork we'll say - "Fair play to her for losing it" !

    So to speak.

I was just thinking of that. I remember an interview with a member of the public who was there when the guy was shot. He was adamant the victim was Middle Eastern looking and had something bulky under his jacket.

Why do students never have money for food, but they always have money for booze?

  • Registered Users Posts: 359 ✭✭TheVman

has this got to do with teachers again. We could have some fun with teachers...

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,038 ✭✭✭✭BPKS

Jesus - when I was in college I often didnt have the bus fare to get into the town and was hungry also. Because I'd spent all my money on the beer on the Wednesday night.

Is this not in breach of these students' confidentiality rights?

Its the old suicide topic, again. Joe wasn't interested in the students being hungry. Wanted to know what else was bothering them, until he got around to his favourite topic.

No not really. She's talking in general. An important topic that needs to be aired.

Is there any proof that this recession is worse than the one ion the 80s? Most shops were down to 3 day weeks back then. There's still 24 hour Tescos open these days.

I'm sorry counsellor, but stop lumping all young people into the one bracket. SOME young people can't cope. SOME can. Fúcking sick of people claiming bullshít as facts.

Ok mrs give us proven statistics don't just say there is a huge increase in suicidal tendencies in your experience, someone else could come on the line and easily say there has been a reduction in those tendencies.Everyone is having it hard at present but someone coming on with anecdotal evidence doesn't help the situation it creates more misery
