He can explain what happened when he gets in to the interview. But a one day entry on a CV will go straight in the bin, do not pass go, do not collect 186 euros a week.

Man gets offered job, leaves old job, buys clothes for new job, goes into new job, spends a day there, gets left off early on the first day, gets rung later to say they took on too many people and they have to get rid of a few and he no-longer has a job.

This idea sounds crazy to me to be honest. Taking people with disabilities from a place where there are nurses and structure, and sending them to live in a house with 3 other people with similar disabilities. Flippin hell, anything could happen. Will they be monitored? What if one of them gets sick or upset?

If a person isn't able to live alone, I don't see how them living with 3 other people who can't alone improves the situation.

    Of course.

There is a minimum of 2 staff on at all times.

    (Where I worked anyway).

It's nothing more than a re-hash of the widely-discredited "Care in the Community" bollocks introduced in the UK early-80s. The only people who benefited from that were the developers who snapped up the old hospitals/institutions and converted or knocked them for new flats.
    Funny thing, that.

Is that not the current system, which according to Eileen and other callers seems to work very well.
