    I'm sorry for this woman, but I know a lot of lads right now who are under huge pressure and in a really bad way, and they dont choose to take heroin.. There is no acceptance of personal responsibility.. it's the state's fault, the heroin's fault, but not her son's fault..

    I have no time ad less sympathy for drug users. Losers for the most part.

    Hell for their families. I think I'd rather a child of mine die than see them a heroine addict.

    Definitely.

    I'm sorry for the poor woman but she shouldn't be on air so soon after the lad's death.

    Nobody forced him to take heroin and this call isn't going to dissuade others from taking it in the future.

    Judging by her references to various locations on the Northside of Dublin I can only assume she is personally known to Joe.

    I know what you mean - like a previous poster said, anyone with an addiction blames everyone else, its never their fault.

    I hope I'm never in the position of Pauline, but if I am, I hope I am strong enough to get my child help - I hope I'd never give up on them.
