    Average gross pay for rank-and-file gardai is €55,000. How bad is that?

    Most guards want to do as little paperwork as possible.. when you ring the station, their primary intent is to not have any work to do at the end of the call.

    These seem to be two unrelated stories

    Not wanting to pay service charges for a bank account
    Not wanting any of his Union subs to go to political parties

    Would people not prefer to help their own people first? I understand things are bad over there but things are pretty bad here.
