Its a copout not having a referendum, majority now according to recent polls want it legal in the case of rape and incest which is ignored in that ridiculous bill, cowards in Government as usual, the country has changed hugely on issues of personal morality since the 83 referendum (contraception, divorce, homosexuality).

their afraid of upsetting the god fearing old people who this wouldnt affect in the slightest

I really hope he doesn't have a counselling service, can you imagine the crap he would be telling vulnerable women?

Eamon has gone mad ..... bad line bad line

where did all these experts come from?

This bill is crap - free choice should mean free choice - we (females) are not going to be rushing out to do it - i personally know people who have had abortions and it was a really difficult decision to make - but at least they had the choice

I was listening to women on the radio speaking about their abortions, and not one of them gave their real name such was the stigma around it. This country needs to wake up and join the 21st century.

Do people think for one minute that if this is passed the pro choice people will be celebrating? No, because abortion is no joke, but it's a civil rights issue, the majority of women would not take this decision lightly.

And as for the phrase "abortion on demand" - as women please don't insult our intelligence

The womans trauma comes largely from listening to bstards like your man asking Joe would he murder his children.

I'd be pro choice myself. The way some.. and I stress *some* pro-lifers go on about it, you'd swear people would be rushing out and queuing up to get abortions.

We claim to be a 21st century country. We should really start acting like one.

I'm not a lass... believe it or not... so I can't imagine the trauma that some would go through in making this decision.

EDIT: While I consider myself to be on the side of pro choice, I think it should really be only used as an option as a very last resort.

I am pro choice its a womans decision but the 24 week upper limit in the UK is disgusting

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,730 ✭✭✭europa11

Joe, you're not so much way over time as over your head.

    Ditto for your callers today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,741 ✭✭✭withless

I'm pro-choice but I'd have the limit at 18 years. Maybe 21 in these difficult times.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,162 ✭✭✭AK333

.... even for her own well being

    I'm no expert Joe

    GTFO you don't care

get your head out of your rear end and face facts

5,000 women have to 'take their file' and go to england each year - this has to stop

we are modern country in a supposed modern society - if the EU can make us toe the line with the economy and prisoners get the vote, etc, etc, why can't we have a set termination law

save these neandethals having to slime their way around new laws

18 years is an awful long time to be pregnant. But on the plus side, the child would be reared by the time its born:D
