The shape of your shots told you what you were doing wrong so what is the Swingbyte going to tell you that you don't know? How are you going to use it to improve?

    (Just playing Devil's advocate).

Indeed they did but I am fond of those "out of body" experiences where you can look at yourself externally.
I have an issue of not turning my wrists properly at impact & leaving the club face open. This shows me & when I correct it, it shows me too.
For the money, I think it's great value. Obviously for some, it's not.
If I can lose a shot or two during my round due to the Swingbyte, then I'm a happy chappy.
I'm not good enough to warrant paying €15k to analyise my swing to that extent nor am I capable of knowing what it all means, but I like simple pictures & simple animations which the SB offers.
So can I please enjoy my new toy if even just for a day?

Regarding the accuracy I think some of you guys are under estimating how good these things are. I guess they making use of a combination of a gyroscope and accelerometer, these chips which would have cost €100+ each 5+plus years ago can be picked up for less than a €1 now, they're in every smart phone you come across, and I would guess they're using a reasonably high accuracy ones in these devices, then when you combine these with some simple embedded code to detect the start of you're swing, all they have to do is just record raw data, 3bays quote something like a thousand samples for a swing. Then the real smarts is done on you're phone, there's a huge amount of post processing to figure out the swing planes, acceleration, angles of attach etc, but this is all just maths/mechanics/ Anyway what I'm getting at is they are actually pretty accurate, my 3bays device comes within 1 or 2 mph on my driver of what I was measure at in foregolf, and even the estimates for distance are within a few yards on a clean strike with something like a 8 iron.

In saying all that I wouldn't recommend everyone goes out and buys one, you need to have a very good understanding of the physics of a golf swing if you where going to use one to try and make changes to your swing, but what I've found it really useful for is as an aid to check that I'm actually doing the thinks that I've been working in my lessons, and they're also really useful to get a measure on consistency as well.

Come across 4 people using swingbyte at the range last night. Anyone used them and made improvements?

I've got one & it is an interesting tool for getting feedback on your swing & changes you make with it. Especially around swing plane & angle of attack data

But I'm not currently using it. Going through lessons & swing changes & want to keep focussed on getting the right feel while making the changes & not get distracted by the results & numbers it'll be kicking out

Used a Swingbyte a couple of weeks ago in our pros new swing room alongside his trackman, swing speeds were remarkably consistent with Swingbyte I gave to day, I was getting around 90-95 on Trackman, for which the Swingbyte gave readings of 93-98, it was always around 2-3 mph higher than Trackman but it was really consistent

I have the swingbyte 2 and while I have no other analysis experience and never gotten near a trackman I think its a great little yoke.
I don't need to tell you all the gory details that's what google is for but I can tell you that it works well and has genuinely helped me.

I was almost obsessed with the idea that I'm having an out to in swing path - coming over the top - making my bad shot a weak push slice. Then over the last year and some I have worked patiently on improving my swing and I can see a big change now looking back. But still was convinced until lately that I'm probably falling back into old over the top habits on my bad shots.

The swing byte told me however that I always come inside out, quite pronounced even. In fact my swing is technically much more sound than I ever imagined, nice circles, nice positions, nice plane, yay! What the swingbyte showed me is that I sometimes fail to square up at impact which coincides with my bad habit of letting the ball creep back in my stance. I was able to fix that quite easily, just have to be more diligent with my setup. Not let things slip into autopilot.

This thing gave me much more confidence in what I'm doing which seems to translate immediately in a more confidentswing in my case. Of all the books, tips and whatnots over the years this thing has really helped me with my swing which hopefully will result in an overall better game anytime soon now ;)

P.S. As for the quality I can't confirm the issues with slipping on the club, maybe those lads had the swingbyte 1? I heard that one had issues with it. One thing that is a bit annoying is that it loses the bluetooth connection quite easily and doesn't re-establish automatically. You need to keep the unit and the phone pretty close once activated. It will work in a range bay no bother but don't walk away from your phone with the club in hand even 10 metres or your back to restart.

Have it myself with an android device, have ny a had much time to test out the new video functionality as yet.

I find it more helpful as a reinforcement tool, as you can see definitive before & after feedback in your swing from the output from it.

Thinking of biting the bullet on a swing analyser.

Just wondering is there any newer models on the market? Anything I can find on these seems to be roughly from 2013 with the exception of the the new PIQ device but that doesn't appear to show as much data as the likes of the swingbyte 2.0

Also those that have the swingbyte, do you still find it useful or is it sitting in a draw somewhere?
