Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Records of deaths/burials in England 1950+

I've been trying to find records of the death or burial of some relatives in London and Birmingham in the 1950s and 60s. Their closer relations had lost contact with them over the years and the surviving cousins (all now very elderly) have no accurate recollection. Is there a searchable online database? I tried the BMD…

I don't know of any free resources but both findmypast and Ancestry have UK death indexes to 2006.

FreeBMD has reached the late 60s I believe. So it may be that they died later than this, or it may still be yet to be transcribed - there's not full coverage of every year yet.
