    HP Pavilion dv9000

It was turning on and then restarting after 2 seconds.
I removed the battery, DVD drive and the 1GB RAM (leaving the 2GB one in).

This gave me a bit of progress.

On start up it now does the same thing one, then gets a bit further, and on the third or fourth attempt it starts to install windows 7 (via USB).

Then when it restarts half way through the installation (as is normal), it does the same crap.

Obviously taking the flash drive out doesn't work because that's what it's booting from in the first place.

    Any ideas?

Oh yeah. The DVD drive is borked, so I can't boot from that.
