OK guys I need some help my little girls birthday is in 2 week time ,and I've done here previous birthday cakes being she's turning 4 she wants a hello kitty cake ,and I'm at a loss I'm pretty confident at baking and general kitchen skills ,
Was just thinking of a basic sponge cake ,buts she's allergic to dairy so no cream or dairy based filling ,any suggestions to alternative fillings ,
Now I'm using a circle base and maybe a fondant topping with kitty on top with some stars ,
Anybody know where I can pick up some pink fondant my local places all have white I've be afraid of adding a color in case I ruin it ,being a daddy I've made 2 cakes every birthday and never happy with the outcome any advice will be great fully welcomed

If you tell us where you are based, someone may be able to suggest a specialist baking suppliers who will have coloured fondant.
Alternatively, ebay will be full of suppliers in the UK sell themed cake toppers and decorations. If you buy today, you should have on time,

I would go with jam in the middle of the cake.

Once there is kitty on the top, a few stars, some sparkles, candles, and lots of pink, shes be thrilled.

Kids dont eat a lot of birthday cake anyway, it mostly gets thrown out in my experience.

Either Decobake on Bachelor's Walk or Kitchen Compliments on South Anne Street should have the pink fondant. You could do a non-dairy butter cream by substituting the butter for margarine and use this in between the sponge and the fondant.

hello Kitty is really easy to mould out of sugarpaste 545409_10152185551205347_293372492_n.jpg see the one on the cupcake there?
I did that with this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrC0EJyCouo
I found it easier to make separate triangle ears and stick them on with water, rather than mould the ears. x
