blackwater salmon fishing

    well lads
    have the job of organising a weekend away for our fishing club we are thinking of salmon fishing on the blackwater can anyone recommend a fishery we were looking at maybe fort william or maybe blackwater lodge or can anyone suggest anywhere else maybe slightly cheaper will be looking for accomodation also. it will probably be towards the end of July.is there anywhere that would be a safer bet depending on weather or river heights.Thanks for your help

    No such thing as safe bets. Blackwater lodge have fishing spread out over 30miles or so, but if the river is flooded you need to be well above Mallow, and they dont have fishing that high. But if its low you need to be below Ballyduff, and you have Fort William, Lismore and the Lodge in that area. You could try talking to Philip Maher, he has access to sections very low and very high up. He is involved with the Suir too.

    I think ballyhass have salmon fishing on the blackwater and they have accommodation as well so may be of some use.
