Fairly bad out there all right, lights flickering here at the moment. My nearest station on wunderground has sustained 61kph with a gust of 81kph at the moment, nothing too severe but considering the lack of any strong wind over the past year its very noticeable

Harps,do you reckon that station is underplaying the strength of the wind?

If its location is accurate on wunderground then its in a housing estate so probably underplaying it yeah, safe to say it'll be windier in Salthill which is just a mile down the road.

    Here's the station..

My house is on top of a hill facing right into the wind so its very loud here at the moment, at a guess probably around 90kph gusts

Met.ie have issued a weather warning, with gusts if up to 130kmph across Southern areas. Perhaps someone should set up a warning level thread to alert unsuspecting folks in the area. Unfortunately I can't as I'm away from my laptop
