Freindly Media player with cover art

    Hi all,

    I am looking to get a media player to hook up to the tv that has cover art for each file.

    The idea is that the kids would be able to select their own movies from the pictures. a bit like netflex.

    Plus I love gadgets and this is the current torment to myself.

    The tv i have at the moment can play media files via usb but they can only be selected by file name.

    I was thinking about getting one of these but Im not sure if this will give me the cover art i would like, also it would give me a full smart tv.

    Any info would be great.

    A boxee box, first gen. About 150 quid but BEAUTIFUL. I can show you mine if you like. Perfect for families and gorgeous. Really easy to use and infinitely customisable.

    In truth I think they are having trouble getting rid of them and they seem to have stopped supporting the unit. So I would do a little reading and ask some more users before considering one.

    It also has no storage, not sure if this is a requirement. The last official update for the Boxee box was 13 month ago. The media info and thumbnails doesn't scrape from IMDB, it's from their own database and I'm not sure how long they'll keep this db running. This is a feature they removed from the new Boxee box.

    You're probably better with another device tbh. The price has dropped because they are EOL

    I did look at the boxee box, nearly bought one from ebay (went for 52 euros), ya i say it's days are kind of at an end due to the lack of support.

    Does anyone have knowledge on the samsung smart tv's and dvd players for the media/cover art.

    I have been googling around but can't seem to find the answer.
