Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah but the sea dragon is not transponder equipped so it won't be allowed in the zone.

Don't let the name fool you. It's not really an island.

Can someone remind me where the aircraft will commence their left turn after the fly past? Is it the bridge at the Customs House?

If that's the case I'm thinking that the greens in Trinity College might be a nice spot. You'll get them side/front on coming down the river and then turning left and climbing around the greens.

Thinking "College Park" on the below map

    https://maps.google.ie/?ll=53.345735,-6.250019&spn=0.006956,0.021136&t=h&z=16

Yes pretty much a good spot the climb is to start at the new bridge over the Liffey and then a left turn out so it should do pretty much what you think it will do.

Nice to hear up in Newcastle on Saturday the VTTS people mention the flightfest down south in September.
    Any word on the B787

    File may be too large
In the absence of the map working

    Aircraft departing Dub
Rwy 28 left turn to follow M50 motorway 4,000 feet
    Past Marley Park
Then direct KLY to enter the hold over the sea
When it is your turn cross the bay pasing out side Dun Laoighre
    Turning in outside Chimmenys
Then along the river for display
    Exit display by Tara Street
Tight visual circuit Donnybrook to Dun Laoighre
    For Second run
Exit display heading west for recovery

Weston and Bal traffic will join the M50 closest

UK Traffic straight in or to the hold

While the sea dragon gods were not looking XH558 confirmed the A crew for Dublin and they want to make an impression on first visit and probably last visit.

    No new aircraft
    B767 still 70%
A350 on trials at the moment MSN01 still the only aircraft 0.01%
USAF aircraft no decision until early september prob 5%

  • Registered Users Posts: 226 ✭✭Air Boss

    Plan
    A380 last display aircraft
    XH558 second last
    but things can change

Never never foreget the dragon gods
RWY10 howth would be good for Dub departures but only 50 % of traffic visible

Now I have a decision to make....... at DUB to see Vulcan take-off............or along the Liffey to see it and everything else go overhead.

    Tenger my friend
The Vulcan is NOT operating into DUB except in an emergency
Doncaster to Southport to Dublin and home without landing

also a UK operator with a service to Dub now wants to be part of it with an interesting aircraft

    Air Boss,

Just in case I forget in the soon to be frenzied lead up to this show, I and im sure we, want to say "Many Thanks" now, for the detailed, if at times, puzzling input you have had on this thread.

I assume you are in a position that you can't divulge every little detail of the day
and I / we respect that.

Your info has been invaluable to a lot of us, like me listening and trying my best to broadcast it, or the people heading into town for the day just to have a look, or to the seasoned spotters who now have a big list of objectives to get filled on the day.

So a round of applause please for the Air Boss.

An Islander or Twin Otter would be nice but they would probably prefer to send an Embraer jet.

FlyBe 190's are regulars at Dublin, both scheduled and charter. Summer weekends to Italy and one of the dailys to Southampton have them.

Any chance of an old propliner such as a Constellation ? The type of display at Dublin would be ideal for something like that I would think. But finding one, quite a challenge. I think there are one or two that display in Europe.

There are 3 or 4 left flying, including Breiting's C-121 based in Switzerland. I think it's the only one in Europe.

I think that decision has being made for you according to the iaa guy on rte 1 today it more then likely will not land and just fly direct from the uk and back home as if it lands that will eat in to its lifespan he said.
