To make quite a long story short, two years ago I was contacted by an Iranian man living in London, who had visited Ireland in 1964 while a student in Cambridge.
The B & B that he stayed in happened to have a copy of The Singing Swordsman, which is an Irish publication based on the career of Piaras Ferriter, the chieftain and poet from Ballyferriter.

So taken was he with the story of Piaras, that he spent the rest of his visit to Ireland writing the first draft of the play, and it has been a work-in-progress since 1964 until its completion 2 years ago.

The play itself is 16 volumes; for historical content, the preface would be of interest to historically minded folk.
