    Hi,
    Is it ok if i close my account and open a new one under a different name? A few people from work know who i am (stupidly choosing a user name similiar to my actual name didnt help) and i would prefer to remain anonymous to them.

    As long as you're not doing it to evade a forum or site ban, then yes, you can go ahead and close this account and create a new one. In the situation you have described, this would be the best thing you could do to preserve your anonymity.
