Anyone know where around Sligo you can get a petrol lawnmower serviced/repaired? Mine needs a new clutch cable and could do with some TLC before a long, hot Summer () of grass cutting.

There used to be a place in the Market Yard and another place on JFK parade, not sure if they are still there though.

Sorry that wasn't actually much help at all!

If you're anyway half handy and have the time, check out you tube for "How To Do It" videos or on "Wiki How".

The below video is a bit shaky, but the replacement procedure seems straight forward enough.

In case anyone else is reading in, a common cause for petrol engine lawnmowers not starting at the start of the cutting season is that they need a fresh change of petrol.

(Petrol that has been left in the tank over the winter loses its zing, or whatever the technical term is).

Thanks for suggestions - will try McDaniel's before trying the DIY options.
