Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Question: If somebody is registered for a medical card with a doctor but then moves to a different part of the country, do they have to pay the same fees as a private patient with the new doctor until such a point that the change of doctor process is complete?

    Or, is there an alternative?

Ring medical cards 1890 252 919 ask them to send you a Change of Gp form. You have to take it to your new GP. If he agrees to take you he/she will sign it and stamp it and you complete the rest and return the form to medical cards in Finglas.

Thanks for your reply. But unfortunately it doesn't answer my question.

A relative of mine needs to visit the doctor as soon as possible. He doesn't have the money to go private and is too far from his current doctor. Will he need to borrow the money to visit a GP or can he use his medical card with the new doctor somehow? Thanks.

No they wont have to pay. The new GP will accept the medical card for up to 3 months.
