I am holding out for flights on Cityjet- next years schedule hasn't come out yet. They fly into the city airport beside the expo (in the excel). I am planning to go over on the saturday morning so want as little travel as possible.

Just a heads up: Cityjet have now released their Spring Schedule.
I am all booked up to fly over to London City on the saturday morning and back on the Monday afternoon for €115 all in.

Seeing as I managed to get a room in The Strand Palace and it's all about how convenient it is for me, yep, the beers will be at The Coal Hole again. :D

My systems are still recovering from drinking beer last monday, don't think I'll ever be allowing myself a cheat day again!

If I make it over it'll be Sangria in the coal hole for me.

That just sounds like some sort of euphemism. ..

Likely to book an evening flight (or book another night in hotel) still undecided. But there will be some beers either way!!

For those like me that were too late to book the strand palace, premier inn on Leicester square is less than a mile away and is 192 places higher ranked than the strand on tripadvisor.....

Has anyone in the past deferred their place in London? Is there much hassle, and did you get your place back for the following year ok?

'twas a long time ago when I deferred my place in the mid '90's but it wasn't any hassle back then and as long as you do it by the deadline you'll be OK. Not sure what the current procedure is for then claiming you place back again the following year though.

Mate of mine got it deffered from this year to nxt year. NO problems. Didn't even need a bill in his name. Lol

Did he have to re-enter using the same procedure as the rest of us this year do you know?

Is there a different selection for deferrals versus normal entry?

The deferrals have guaranteed entry for the following year. No idea how or when you have to go about paying for it though, I'd guess it is before the ballot as it will determine how many ballot places they have left.
