Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Recommend a character guide that doesn't contain spoilers?

Tbh I'm getting lost with all the names of new characters (and indeed old ones).
Is there a guide for keeping it all straight that is TV-show specific?
In other words a reference that doesn't include spoilers for non-book readers?

Game Of Thrones wikia seems fine. I read a few articles and didn't see any spoilers, seems up to date on current episodes (ie It has a summary for season 3 episode 3 though on Jaime's page it hasn't yet mentioned (ep 3 spoiler)
    his hand
) and totally ignores the books.

There's an app on the iStore called Game of Thrones Companion. It's about €3 but has a nice setting where you can set which book (series) you're up to and it'll hide any spoilers from you.

The official site it pretty good. Click on cast and crew and it has a short bio of all the characters. Pretty good interactive map of Westeros as well. Plenty of behind the scenes and episode breakdowns as well.
And as its the official site it gives nothing away!

You should read the books. They change a few characters here and there but overall it is easier to follow the show and it's vast amount of characters. It is also better, far far better than the show. ( and the show is amazing)

The wiki has each character's story split from each book which is probably the best reference. So if you're looking for info on old characters from season 1 & 2 don't read anything other then "A game of thrones" and " A clash of Kings". I'd recommend any watchers of the show to read the history of the Upsurper rebellion too and then the history of the Targaryens as it makes you understand why people are doing what they are doing. For example Rhaeger was mentioned on Monday night in the show reading his story alone answers a lot of questions.

Here is a good video on the history of the Targaryens.

Think shes doing a lannister one soon.
