Well, it definitely reinforces their place as the Worst Company in America 2 years standing. It's a shame about the jobs though, hopefully they'll be able to find work elsewhere.

There are far far far worse companies in America then EA....

However the act of announcing the 300 jobs and us making such a big deal of it only for them to announce cuts not even a year later is just..tragic.

Did the Galway center provide support for their Facebook titles by any chance?

It also appears to be less than 20 jobs going which isn't too bad if they're still going ahead with expansion in what I assume are other areas in the same location.

Great sympathies with anyone who lost their job, but in this climate no one would really think a call center job is secure by any means, particularly for a struggling company like EA.

Anyone who honestly believes that ought to try reading a fucking newspaper from time to time.
    Or ever.

Still, it's only twenty people though, out of how many? five hundred?
It's not the end of the world now is it.

Think it was focused on European support for The Old Republic originally, which has dwindled a bit over the past year of release and now F2P. But with the extra jobs announced they might have moved more support facilities for other titles there, so not impossible to imagine the now dropped Facebook games had a spot there.
