Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't want to go into too much detail but a "acquaintance" is in receipt of carer's allowance, respite and domiciliary care allowance for her 14 year old son.

The child received an official diagnosis of aspergers about 6 years ago. He has some resource hours in school (secondary). However, there is nothing wrong with the child. This person was convinced that there was something wrong and took him to 6 different child psychologists and was determined to get a diagnosis.

There is no reason for her to be in receipt of this as he does not receive any more care than any of her other children. I have a lot of experience with children with aspergers through my profession and this child does not exhibit any of the characteristics. He engages in extra curricular activities, cycles to and from school, has plenty of friends etc.

I am extremely tempted to report her and at least try and get the child reassessed as I'm sick of hearing about holidays, renovations, new clothes etc which is all being funded by this.

However, if there is a diagnosis - am I wasting my time? IF it came out that I had reported this person there would be an incredible ripple effect and I would never be forgiven. I just need to be very careful of my actions.

If I could report her (by requesting the child be reassessed) anonymously I would do it in an instant. But is there any point? Do they reassess? (she was granted all the allowances when they were being given out like sweets....)

    Thanks for reading.
