Lots of aircraft going to be in the wrong airports. Will This cause delays tomorrow?

Lufthansa 982 looks to be diverting to Liverpool now

Surely with all the diversion airports being filled up pilots will just ignore that company notam and divert there, no? Exceptional circumstances and all that.

Reports that SNN, ORK, NOC, MAN all filled and can take no more aircraft...

Apparently it was due runway works, though they seem to have persisted and are en route.

I'm like yourself, only quoted what ATC mentioned to the AI coming into Cork, I would suspect that yes that the wind is directly in line with the runway.

Looks like another 2 are coming into Shannon and Manchester.

I say tomorrows schedule will be all over the place for the airlines.

You can hear some ATC here if interested.

    Thanks for the link NoDrama!

Wishing Safe Landing to all, at which-ever airport they receive the all-clear from!

Oh that's right, didn't Jet2 stop their flights because of that. Anyone any idea if BHD can take aircraft this late in the evening, in particular seeing as practically all airports in range of Dublin are filling up fast.

Another interesting aspect to the diversions; Edinburgh have said they can accept EI407, refuel them, but they can't stay overnight...
