    Unfortunately elevating athletes, sports announcers, actors and the like to the status of experts in governing and public policy is not limited to Ireland. Occasionally it works ok, but in most instances it is a failure.

    Very sadly, Hooky is far below an Irish standard for statemanship and scholarship, which in various times and places has set a high bar for the world to follow.

    At the moment the bar is set so low then, a snake wearing a top hat would pass under it no bother.:(
