Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

CID Info Request

How do you know if your hours are in your own name or not and if they are counting towards a CID?

I have read all the posts and understand everyones case is slightly different but ill just thought I would post to see if anyone could answer the question.

I am an assistant lecturer in an IOT covering a career break. In my first year I got a fixed term Pro-Rata Part-Time contract for 18hours with no mention that it was covering a career break. I am now almost complete in my second year. Over the summer I received a letter saying my Pro Rata part-time contract was to be extended but it had a paragraph in it said:

We are not in a position to offer you a CID at this stage due to the uncertainity over student numbers and as all your hours are replacing XXX who is on a career break.

All i want to know is do any of these years count for a CID? If they dont then I could be waiting 9 years for one if the career break i am covering takes their full 5 years before resigning. As a side note, it is known that this person is not returning.

    Any help would be great.
