Some have posted theres in the regular season thread, I thought it deserved a thread of its own.

    Here goes :

MVP : Lebron. Easiest selection of the lot, he's just on a different stratosphere to everyone else.

Honourable mention: Durant, Paul, Melo. Kobe

ROY : Damian Lilliard. Again an easy pick, he has surpassed all expectations, being the Blazers best player.

Honourable mention : Anthony Davis, Drummond, Beal.

Coach of the year : Thibs. Hasn't got the credit he deserves for doing what he has done this season, with a team missing its best player for the whole season, and usually missing one of there other key pieces. He did a remarkable job to get this team to 5th seed, and a good shot of beating the Nets in the first round. He won't get it because he won 2 years ago, it will probably be Spoelstra or Karl though.

Honourable mention: Pop, Woodson, Spoelstra, Karl

DPOY : Marc Gasol. He reads the offense so well, and even though he is usually one of the slowest guys on the court he seems to have a preternatural knack for timing, he slides into place to contest opportunities just as they become available. Sure, his block and steals numbers won’t blow you out of the water, and 7.8 rebounds a game for a seven-footer who averages 35 minutes a night isn’t all that impressive, but Memphis is the only team in the league that holds opponents under 90 points a game (89.3). They rank third in opponents field-goal percentage (43.5%), seventh in forced turnovers (14.7), second in opponents three-point percentage (33.8%) and second in opponents rebounds (39.1). The team also ranks second in defensive efficiency (97.4). Sure Allen is great too, but Gasol is the anchor, and influences so many shots in a game.

Honourable mention:Duncan, Noah, Sanders, George, Tony Allen.

MIP : The most arbitrary of all awards... I'll just say Vasquez, because I picked him at the start of the year, to have a breakout year.
Greivis Vasquez. 14 points, 9 assists and 4.3 rebounds are very good numbers for your starting P.G. His numbers have jumped across the board, with increased minutes, but his F.G stats have stayed the same and he's improved his 3 point %..

Honourable mention: Jrue Holiday, Nic Vucevic, James Harden.

6th MOY : JR Smith. After years of trying to put it all together, Smith has finally played up to his vast potential. In April, the last month, the most important month of the season, Smith has gone insane, shooting 48.8 percent and averaging 23 ppg. Those numbers are even higher in the last 10 games (50.3 percent, 24.8 ppg) as the Knicks have overcome still more injuries to key players to lock down second place in the East. But throughout the year he has been the Knicks spark plug, and is our secondary option on offense. When Smith is going to the rim he is almost unguardable. Smith appears to have found a home and a role perfectly suited for his skill set and personality. Woodson has found a way to get through to Smith and therefore has gotten the most out of him. Smith has bought in to the Knicks style of play, which features a lot of isolation and a ton of three-point attempts, both right in line with what Smith does best. He's in a great situation, and has been the knicks outstanding player besides Melo this season.

Honourable mention : Jamal Crawford, Andre Miller, Jarrett Jack, Kevin Martin

Does anyone not think that George Karl will get it this this, on the basis , that maybe, this might be the last time they could give it to him?. After all, he has 1000+ games, playing in a competitive Conference with apparently no superstars (nonsense, cough, Iguodala and Lawson) Also, one of the best home records (might help with the altitude) and that streak where they beat some big teams. Of course, his record THIS season should count, but sometimes these kind of awards look further

Hard not to forget Spoelstra in this 82 game season , after all that big streak, even when Wade and LeBron were out.

What a turn around for JR Smith (funny that ALOT of Knicks players played, almost together with Denver)

For 6th Man, had Chris Andersen being brought in by Miami earlier, and contributed the way that he did, I would give him the nod. Good call about Andre Miller, steadied the ship for Denver when he was out
