I'm thinking of the iphone 5 on three. When signing up online I select the Classic Flex Max plan which has all you can eat data but when I get to the next page (add-ons) I see an add-on that says "Mobile Surfing 1GB 1GB of data. Surely I don't need an add-on to get email on my phone????

Also, can I tether my ipad on this (occasional use)?

Thats a misprint. You can get email with any data connection.

Tethering is prohibited but they have no current way to detect it...
