i've recently bought an old mk2 transit ambulance but i've done various free vehicle checks and there's no record of the vehicle.anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be?

If a car hasn't been taxed since a certain time there won't be an electronic record of it (can't remember the exact year). Once you have the old brown logbook and the chassis number matches then it'll be fine. When does the logbook say it was taxed last?

don't have the logbook as the seller didn't have it.i also have a minibus that spent over 15 years off the road but that shows up on all the vehicle checks!would it being an ambulance make a difference?

I'm not 100%, but I think "a certain time" would be if it was last taxed before 1/1/1993.

This post http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=78803765&postcount=38 confirms 1991 was before a certain time.

Time to do an old-fashioned check with the relevant CoCo Motor Tax office...
