just have a few extremely noobish questions about batteries and their connectors.
what batteries does a deans connector fit to or whats the difference between a standard taimya
whats the difference between lipos and nimh
what connector type do you need for lipos
    thanks

Deans connectors in an AEG will fit to a battery which has had it's normal Tamiya connector replaced with the complimentary Deans connector to fit to the AEG.

Deans provide a better connection and better current transfer than T-connectors and are preferred by many, although I myself have still not made the switch

lipos are lithium polymer batteries, they provide more power although a 7.4 is generally regarded as being similar to a decent 9.6Nimh. a Nimh battery (nicklemetal hydride) are the most commen batteries. Personally unless you're going up to 11.1V lipos I don't see a point in lipos, although I do realise Lipo's advantages over Nimh. Honestly I just couldn't be bothered buying new batteries :p

lipos will work with a standar tamiya connector although they need a specialised charger hence why they have two connector, the other one fits into the charger.

    Hope it answers some questions

*leaves and waits for Kev :p*

I use xt60 connectors as good if not slightly better in performance. They are also easier to solder and take apart than deans connectors. Cheaper than official deans connectors and not much more if the same price as chinese replicas t-plugs(deans)
Also with regards to a lipo vs nimh, a decent lipo can last longer than a cheap nimh battery. I switched from 8.4 and 9.6 nimh to a good 7.4 lipo to save space in my aeg and because with two of them I should be set for a 24 hour game and have snappier trigger response.
