I remember Defoe bit Mascherano in a Spurs - West Ham game a fair while ago. The incident happened directly in front of the referee yet he only got a yellow for it. Afterwards, pretty much every commentator swept it under the carpet by saying stuff like "ah it was only a nibble".
Watch the exact same "pundits" trip over themselves to say how disgraceful this incident is (which it is, to be fair).

In fairness its pretty difficult to see exactly what happened from the angle hes looking at. He will just see a coming together/grappling
