Haha. Chelsea caught in a back-heel groove, there.

Christ that was horrendous. Enrique is the only person having a good game for us.

I actually think both teams are on about the same level at the moment - two very average sides.

League table over last 3 years says different.

I don't understand why people seem surprised that Liverpool are being made to look ordinary by a superior Chelsea team?

it's been very little to do with Chelsea.

we're not keeping the ball well in the Chelsea half, and when we do have it, we're embarrassingly indecisive.

Ramires for me has been sublime that half, he's been involved in everything.

    your having a laugh ,

There is only player on that Liverpool side I would want at Chelsea and thats Suarez

Would it be too much to ask for Liverpool to practice corners in training????

Up until 5 or 6 games ago, pool fans still believed they had a chance of top 4. Holy God looking at that today they are light years away from being in champo league again. V poor.

Yeah Henderson has been awful but our 2 creative midfielders Gerrard and Coutinho their distribution of the ball has been well below average.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,013 ✭✭✭aramush

Better take of Henderson before I nut someone.

People are getting confused with squads, overall performance and today's performance. Today, both teams are a bit weak.

Sturridge needs to be on the pitch asap. At least he might give us an attacking option. its been easy enough for Chelsea so far

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Chelsea have better players (overall) and Liverpool are not in the groove at all. Two and half games without a goal and likely to be three at this rate. Coady is on the bench but the chances of him playing are zero so the middle trio won't be changed (Shelvey would get a red card in this game). The only plausible switch is bringing on Sturridge for one of Downing/Coutinho as far as I can see.

I wish there was a good player in Stewart Downing's position. He sees so much of the ball and does f all with it.

    Agree.

This match is exemplifying where we are failing and where we need to improve.

Apart from replacing Carragher, we need to significantly upgrade on Henderson and Downing. Neither have the quality to be starting players.

We need two players in these attacking midfield positions who are technically good, have an eye for a pass and can chip in with a few goals now and again.

Ramires has been good, he needs to drive at them more in the second half gets the whole team going.
Wish the front 3 would stop trying to walk the ball into the net when they get inside the box, they would be more effective if they could play a little more direct at times.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,952 ✭✭✭Morzadec

    Oscar, Mata Hazard

    vs

    Coutinho, Henderson, Downing

Unfortunately there's a huge gulf in class here

Chelsea are certainly superior to Liverpool this season.

However, it doesn't explain this performance from Liverpool at home considering Chelsea aren't exactly playing great stuff.

    Poor game tbh.

Noone to replace him with except guaranteed red card Shelvey.

It's not like anyone else has shown any ability to pass the ball.

    Awful match.

Chelsea did **** all with the ball.
Liverpool can't pass because they're awful.

Woeful performance thus far. Way too many passengers unfortunately, Henderson is having an absolute stinker, followed a close second by Coutinho. Downing is having a go but is largely ineffective, Suarez has been off the boil for a month now.

This side needs reinforcements in every department i'm afraid, goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack.

Defensive clearances are trully shocking, watch any headed clearance we make fall to a Chelsea man. Lucas is still not a natural in his role either no matter what anyone says, we need a specialist or an exceptional all rounder in this role for next season.

Its very disappointing. When all is said and done we just need better players. I know its a very simplistic argument, but we just need to buy 4-5 players who are going to significantly improve upon what we already have. We need to buy players who will go straight into the first XI.

Finally some sense, how a team with Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Ramieres and Cech can be called average is beyond me.

Looking at the replay of the goal, that's another one on the Agger list for the season.

He's had some strange lapses in concentration at

It really smacked of "ah sure hes running off away from the goal, hes coming from behind carra and has a headstart, whats the worst that could happen, I'll just leave him be"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,405 ✭✭✭Lukker-

Chelsea look leggy but they've have an excuse, Liverpool aren't winning those second balls don't seem as up for it.

A common problem i see latley in this Liverpool team is a lack of organisation.

its actually a lesson in poor spending.

Hazard, Mata and Oscar didn't cost all that much more than Henderson, Downing and Coutinho.

Slight more but not reflective of the quality. Once again its a shocking indictment on Liverpool's spending.

Yep, looking at the bench Sturridge is the only one I'd fancy at making any difference, it really is a poor quality bench. Nothing seems to be going right for us.

Carra and Enrique have been our best players today, not that they have been playing exceptionally well or anything.

Everyone else makes me want to cry.

Been saying that for a week or two, its clear he could do with a little time off he may be bomb proof but he still needs some looking after.

Also another favourite of mine - Liverpools inability to clear their lines is remarkable.

I also find it strange for the first 5 minutes the players were pressing high up the pitch but after that they are just standing off the Chelsea players.

As has been said many times this year, we look to be poorly coached.

If Liverpool can score two without reply
there is a 100% chance of victory

Liverpool look like the season is over for them and are going through the motion. There is a distinct lack of urgency and alot of sloppiness. The season is really filtering out. Disappointing all round.

The idea that players interchange is great in theory, but when all players are doing it together there are times when they are all bunched up and there is no outlet.

Terrible terrible first half of soccer.

That's what happened last season and the manager got the bullet.

Rodgers can't afford to let that happen.

    Coutinho off, Sturridge on.

Unlucky for him, could have been Henderson or Downing as well.

Gerrard should switch positions with henderson too.
