Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can we get this stickied/polled? Be a shame to let it fall off the front page.

Grand I'll sticky it. There's a poll there already.

hmmm with a private poll it's hard to tell if should be avoiding any one at these.

To be truthful with the baby I'm not sure how these matches are going to pan out for us so I'll see closer the time.

The one thing I will say though is that if this is going ahead have everything written in stone before the day. Final days (especially HEC final day) are the worst days in the world to try and arrange something like this. As everywhere is pack and it is hard enough finding people you know let alone people you don't. Chances are you will have to arrange this for a pub which is a bit away from the stadium, which in itself can cause people to not bother going at short notice

Shhussshhhhh we'll be fine for the Amlin final fingers crossed, even if we have to get Leo(not as good as the original Leo) to babysit.

Fair point. I know this place on Harcourt St....... :D

Seriously though there will be no point going anywhere near Landsdowne Rd on HEC final day. Would Lower Baggot St be far enough? You've got Dohney & Nesbitts, Toners, O'Donoghues, Baggot Inn etc....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

To be honest I'd say Baggot street might be jammers too

O'Ds on HC Final Day will be packed.

Baggot Street would be a nightmare on HEC day!

Where would be a spot the foreigners and blow-ins wouldn't find?

Are we talking before or after the game?

Typical. For all yer whinging about Coppers it's still on the agenda.....it's already gearing up to be another one of those "I'm not going to Coppers", "Where was I last night? Coppers." kind of nights. :D

If Munster are in the final and the beers are on final night then Coppers will be rammed with our bog dwelling friends.

I'd be bringing the girlfriend if it is HEC final night, especially if Munster are involved. She is both a Munster fan (yes, yes I know) and a boards poster so she'd fit right in :)

Thank God for that cos I'll have mine in tow as well. She did suggest our honeymoon destination, the Lions tour, so it's all good.

Better check she doesn't mean a wildlife safari in Africa...good luck finding any form of network coverage or internet in the Kalahari.

So are we in agreement on the 18th then?

    Final pre-match suit better?

    Clermont gear at the ready?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Pre-match would suit me better, but I can do either.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,207 ✭✭✭decisions

Ive a much better chance of making it pre match.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Pre-match works for me. Makes sense before the chaos ensues. I'll bring along a few genuine Clermont fans. If I haven't killed them of alcohol poisoning the night before....had them on to me today. Apparently they were hassling Munster fans in Montpellier to sing Molly Malone with them. :pac:

Jeez I'd say that went down well

ye If I have any hope of getting along it would only be pre-match on the 18th

edit: obviously the rest of yous can re-meet up in coppers later in the night

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

I think this would be a better event if it weren't on either final night tbh.

True. People have their own plans for these matches. They'll be out with mates or planning to watch the game in particular places. It will actually diminish numbers. The semi final would be a night to get more people along. Also, I reckon a fair few people won't be getting tickets to the finals and won't be near the RDS on those nights.

We're really left with 3 options at this point - Amlin, HEC or Pro12 final. Unless someone can think of another one?

Personally I'm happy with either this weekend, but the Pro12 final is a bit 50-50. How about the rest of ye?

ak - is there anyway to reset the poll?

I can only really attend if it's this weekend as I'm living with the sassanachs.

I am going for beers before the Heineken Cup final with at least 1 other member here.

    People are welcome to join.

Destination timing etc to be provided once I figure out where I can conceivably meet a bunch of nutbag Clermont fans and swap some gear with, whilst also being able to get near a bar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

    Somewhere near Merrion square then?

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    Do you have match tickets?

    yup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,374 ✭✭✭Eponymous

The champions village *cringe at the name* is on in Merrion Square. Fans of every colour and none will be there, probably.

It's all about getting in early! I'll be in before hand too with a few of said Clermont fans so all on for meeting up then too...

We have to join the march if at all possible though.
