Buying a tonne of topsoil online

    Looking at buying a tonne of topsoil for growing vegetables, €60 seems to be the general guide price: http://www.topsoilireland.com/. Can anyone recommend one supplier over another or any do's and don'ts when buying online?

    the first do i would do is only buy topsoil when you can visit the yard and see the quality of stuff you're buying.

    www.Mulch.ie


    More expensive but its fully screened and sterilized too.

    We have used them before and they are very nice and good to deal with.

    And the soil quality was and is top notch too.:)

    Mulch.ie is e100 including delivery, e30 of which is delivery. Is it worth it?

    free delivery on orders of over €150 though.

    they don't say if their soil enricher is peat based, actually. would be good to know.

    Yep.the soil is top notch.

    They have all their soil on display in their shop and the chap up there goes through the entire process with you and advizes you what would be best suited to your needs.
    He wont just sell you the most expensive product,if you dont need it,he is very honest and very sound to deal with.

    30 euro delievery isnt too bad for delievery,as it does cost these companies money to run their trucks and buy their diesel.



    We got in a few tons of screened topsoil many years ago,from a reputable company.Sadly it was littered with shards of green house glass and also other pieces of plant and what looked like bits of tomato plant when we inspected it closer.Also lots of rather large stones and bits of rock in it aswell.Now the company involved couldnt say sorry to us enough and offered us a full refund and a gift voucher as a way of their appoligy.


    Next time around we decided to use Mulch.ie as they had just opened their store/yard to the public.Their soil was and is absolutely perfect and top notch.

    Id use them again in the future.:)
