New development in the whole telephone call" that there is something wrong with your PC scam".
It seems They are now deleting all restore points, & installing software/changing settings that the user is required to put in a password before the machine will boot properly into windows.

Have seen this twice since friday, am looking for suggestions to get the machine to boot as normal. Have succeeded with XP machine in using boot cd to restore the registry to earlier settings, but had no luck with Windows7 ( had to save files & restore as it was needed next day) Anyone recommend a bootcd with program that can restore the registry on Win7?

I haven't seen the type of login dialog box that appears before, so doubt if it is just a normal windows username/password.

Sorry I didn't get more time with either of them, should've taken a photo too... :(
