Driving to Tullow this weekend. Google maps has me going through Waterford as the quickest way. I reckon I can go via Mitchelstown and Cahir, but really want to avoid the tolls on the M8. What's my best bet?

    205km journey.Estimated journey 2.5 hours.

    Cork city - Fermoy - Mitchelstown - Cahir - Clonmel - Kilkenny - Tullow

This is the way I would go, have done it a good few times over the years. I've tried every which way & the above is best.

So I take the M8 as far as Watergrasshill (exit 17) avoiding the toll, and then take the R639 through Fermoy, and onwards?
